Urgh, another woman’s problem to add to our list. This one is slightly less common but by no means less important. In this blog, we are going to share how CBD may help with the pesky (to say the least) symptoms of adenomyosis. First, a bit of sciency stuff, then we’ll look into how CBD might help you. Just so you know, we’ve had a Doctor check over the, so we know we are giving you the right info.

What is adenomyosis?
Adenomyosis is a condition where the endometrium (this is the word for womb tissue lining) breaks through and grows in the muscle wall of the uterus. It can cause pressure in the lower abdomen, bloating, heavy and long periods, pain during sex and period cramps. You can read more about the condition here.
The main and definitive treatment for the condition is hysterectomy. Hormonal therapies, anti-inflammatory medications, uterine artery embolization are a few other options which help in this condition.
However, before you head down those routes, you may consider natural remedies to ease the symptoms of adenomyosis.
If you are reading this and facing a hysterectomy or any surgery, check out our posts on recovering from laparotomy surgery diary.
Natural treatments may include looking to avoid foods that put pressure on the pelvic area, such as cows milk, alcohol, wheat and gluten.

Can CBD help adenomyosis?

CBD has been researched as a pain reliever. While studies are ongoing, it is thought to work by activating or curbing compounds in your bodies endocannabinoid system.
CBD, along with many other mechanisms to reduce pain, also may stop the body from absorbing anandamide which is a compound associated with regulating pain. When levels of anandamide are increased in the bloodstream it may help to reduce your pain. Read more about that here.
While CBD may not help to lighten a heavy period, it does show promise in helping with the discomfort of the cramping from adenomyosis as proved by a research.
But it is still to be approved by officials like FDA, as a medicine for period cramps and there is still room for more researches to completely prove its various uses.
We have had some brilliant reviews of how CBD has helped our customers with their period troubles, including chronic pain from endo. CBD isn’t known to have any negative side effects and will not get you ‘high’ as it contains zero THC. (You also won’t be raiding the cupboards because of the munchies…)
How do I take CBD for adenomyosis?

We suggest that you take CBD every day, not just during your period or when you feel pain, to get the most benefits after consulting your physician of course, as there might be certain prescribed medications of adenomyosis in your daily routine that may react adversely with CBD
Adding the cannabinoid to your daily supplement regime will allow it to build up in your body and take effect.
Pop it next to your make up or toothbrush as a daily reminder to take it.
It’s really easy to take Our Remedy. You just use a dropper and squeeze the oil under your tongue. Hold it there for a few seconds before swallowing to allow it to get into your bloodstream.
Our Remedy tastes pretty good too, as we add a bit of mint to mask the hemp taste!
We hope CBD for adenomyosis works for you.
